On October 6, 2026, fourth-stage students from the Department of Community Health Nursing at Cihan University–Erbil undertook an educational field visit to the Directorate of Prevention Health Affairs as part of their practical education and community health training.

The students were accompanied by Dr. Eyad Abdullah, During the visit, they were warmly welcomed by Mr. Aram Mohammed Bra, Surveillance Officer at the Communicable Disease Center, and Mr. Hemin Latife, Head of the Sexually Transmitted Diseases Department.

Throughout the visit, the students received valuable information about communicable disease surveillance, outbreak monitoring, disease screening and treatment, case follow-up, and preventive health activities.

 The discussions also highlighted the important role of public health authorities in monitoring infectious diseases, identifying and following up on cases, and implementing measures to reduce disease transmission within the community.

Particular attention was given to public health inspection activities in restaurants and other public places. The discussions emphasized the importance of hygiene, sanitation, food safety, and preventive measures in reducing health risks and protecting the community from communicable diseases.
