Continuation of the School Reconstruction Efforts by the Department of Business Administration
On December 23rd , 2021, and as a part of the ongoing efforts to rebuild schools, the Department of Business Administration visited Hiran City 2 Elementary School in Erbil . the main goal of the visit was to diagnose the school’s problems especially in its infrastructure. This visit was supervised by Dr. Qusay Hamid Al-Salami, Assistant Lecturer Bushra Ali, and Assistant Lecturer Muhammad Saber Jami.
During the first part of the visit, the school principal, Mr. Mansour Mahmmad Sattar, accompanied with his assistants, clarified the school’s difficult situation, especially during the winter season and raining times. After that, the responsible committee for reconstruction and maintenance in the Department of Business Administration conducted a field tour, accompanied by the school principal, to all classes of the school, and reviewed the deficiencies in the school, as the following problems were detected: the electrical infrastructure such as lighting, ventilation fans for classrooms, electrical connections and cables, lack of safe electrical installations, unavailability of bathrooms for students and broken air conditioners, the need to provide insulating materials that prevent water from entering to the classrooms, and the urgent need for maintaining the caravans since the school consists of twelve caravans distributed throughout the school.
At the end of the visit the responsible committee held a meeting with the school administration and discussed the available options for implementing the maintenance procedures. It is worth to mention that the (Daim Company for Electrical and Thermal Insulation), which is located on Al-Makhmour Street – Erbil, volunteered to execute the maintenance procedures for the ceilings and the electrical infrastructure in the school.
