Dental Technology Students Conduct a Scientific Visit to Vanest Dental Center
On Monday, February 26, 2026, second-year students from the Dental Technology Department at Cihan University conducted a scientific visit to the laboratory of Vanest Dental Center. The visit was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Mahmoud Abdullah and was part of a series of scientific visits aimed at bridging the gap between academic study and practical application.
The students were warmly received by Dr. Jekir Derbendi, the center’s director, who emphasized the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and specialized medical centers in developing students’ skills and enhancing their professional qualifications.
The visit included an intensive professional lecture on optimal communication skills and effective techniques between laboratory and clinical staff to ensure highly accurate functional and aesthetic outcomes. The lecture, presented by Dr. Maria Burhan and Dr. Rania Amin, highlighted efficient coordination mechanisms between dentists and laboratory technicians.
In addition, the students were introduced to the latest digital technologies used in modern dental laboratories for the design and manufacture of dental prostheses and orthodontic appliances. This was accompanied by a practical demonstration explaining the role of advanced equipment, its operation, and its positive impact on improving accuracy and efficiency within dental laboratories.
The visit also covered the clinical aspects of prosthesis manufacturing, including understanding precise clinical requirements, modern methods of recording appropriate occlusions, and techniques for analyzing and simulating natural tooth color variations to achieve realistic aesthetic results.
