Department of Accounting Students Visit Mira Water Factory in Erbil
On Sunday, October 19, 2025, the Department of Accounting organized a scientific visit to Mira Water Factory in Erbil for a group of fourth-year students under the supervision of Lecturer Rebin Bilal Mohammed.
During the educational visit, the students were warmly received by Mr. Saman Sabir Ibrahim, the Production Manager, who provided a comprehensive explanation of the water production process. He outlined each stage, beginning with the screening and filtration of raw water to remove impurities, followed by sedimentation, activated carbon filtration, and UV sterilization to ensure water purity and safety.
After treatment, the water undergoes mineralization and pH adjustment to meet the required quality standards before being transferred to the bottling section, where automated machines handle rinsing, filling, capping, and labeling. Mr. Saman emphasized that every stage of production involves materials such as filters, chemicals, and packaging, all of which are systematically recorded and analyzed by the accounting department to monitor costs, enhance efficiency, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
At the end of the visit, the students engaged in a discussion with Mr. Saman Sabir Ibrahim about production processes, cost monitoring, and auditing, thereby strengthening their practical understanding and linking theoretical accounting knowledge to real-world industrial applications.
