Department of Architectural Engineering Member Participates in Cultural Visit to Longyan City, China

On 11 July 2026, Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed from the Department of Architectural Engineering at Cihan University-Erbil participated in a cultural visit to Longyan City, Fujian Province, China, as part of the ‘Development of the Intelligent Construction Industry for Belt and Road Countries’ training program organized under the China Aid Program.
During the visit, Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed toured the Gutian Cadre Academy, one of China’s most significant educational and historical institutions. The academy is closely associated with the historic Gutian Conference and plays an important role in preserving China’s revolutionary history while providing education and leadership training. The visit also included a tour of the academy’s museum and surrounding historic buildings, where participants learned about the region’s rich cultural heritage, traditional architecture, and historical development.
The cultural visit provided participants with a deeper understanding of Chinese history, culture, and architectural heritage while highlighting the importance of preserving historical sites and promoting cultural exchange among Belt and Road countries. The experience also strengthened mutual understanding, fostered international friendship, and encouraged greater appreciation of cultural diversity through shared learning and meaningful cultural engagement.
