Department of Biomedical Sciences Students Deliver Cancer Awareness Seminar at Hawler School 2 – English System
A group of students from the Department of Biomedical Sciences organized an awareness seminar at Hawler School 2 – English System on Thursday, 12 February 2026, under the supervision of the Head of the Department. The seminar was entitled ‘Together We Plant Hope.’
The students were warmly received by Mrs. Savan Talb Hussein, the school director, who welcomed the initiative and expressed her appreciation for the visit.
The seminar took place in the school hall and was attended by Stage 11 and Stage 12 students. During the session, the biomedical sciences students delivered a comprehensive presentation on cancer awareness. The seminar addressed different types of cancer, how cancer develops in the body, diagnostic methods, and available treatment options. The presentation aimed to enhance students’ understanding and promote health awareness among young learners.
As part of the activity, small symbolic gifts and candles were distributed to attendees. The candle symbolized hope and new life, reflecting the seminar’s theme of optimism and awareness.
At the end of the event, Mrs. Savan Talb Hussein expressed her gratitude to the visiting students for their valuable contribution. In turn, the biomedical sciences students thanked the school administration and staff for providing the opportunity to conduct the seminar.
