Department of Business Administration Organizes Donation Campaign to Support Needy Families in Erbil
On Monday, September 28, 2026, during a visit to the Social Protection Network Directorate in Erbil, which is affiliated with the General Directorate of Social Care and Development at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Kurdistan Regional Government. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Sheikh Mohammed Gaznaiyi, Director of the Social Protection Network in Erbil.
The campaign was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Qusay Hamid Al-Salami, accompanied by a number of Business Administration students from different academic stages. Mr. Sheikh Mohammed took the delegation on a tour of the offices of the Social Protection Network Directorate to learn about the services provided to citizens with special needs and how their requests are handled.
Following the tour, a discussion was held between the delegation and Mr. Sheikh Mohammed in the meeting room. The students asked several questions about identifying groups eligible for social care and how the Directorate deals with different groups. Mr. Sheikh Mohammed explained some of the basic concepts, procedures, and rules followed by the Directorate.
Following the discussion, 30 food baskets were distributed to needy families who were present at the Directorate to complete their official procedures. The campaign was met with appreciation and gratitude toward Cihan University–Erbil for its support and assistance to families in need.
It is worth mentioning that the Department of Business Administration has carried out several charitable initiatives in recent years, including the distribution of Ramadan food baskets. These initiatives reflect the university’s commitment to supporting the local community and promoting the values of social solidarity.
At the end of the visit, Mr. Sheikh Mohammed expressed his appreciation for the initiative organized by Cihan University–Erbil. It is noteworthy that he is also a graduate of the Department of Business Administration, having completed his evening studies and graduated in 2016. He expressed his gratitude to the Department of Business Administration and to Assistant Professor Dr. Qusay Hamid Al-Salami, who was one of his former instructors.
