Department of Business Administration Organizes Scientific Visit to Duty Free Global Company
On Monday, September 27, 2026, the Department of Business Administration at Cihan University–Erbil organized a scientific visit for its students to Duty Free Global Company in Erbil. The visit aimed to provide students with practical insights into general commercial operations.
The group of second- and third-year Business Administration students, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Hevi Mohammed Qadir, received a warm welcome from the company’s administrative staff upon arrival.
The visit began with a comprehensive overview of the company presented by Ms. Marolya Adnan Marqos, a company supervisor. She explained that Duty Free Global began its operations in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, in 2009 and highlighted the company’s collaborations with international brands such as Swarovski and Chanel. Ms. Marolya Adnan Marqos also emphasized the company’s import activities, including perfumes, wristwatches, accessories, and eyewear from countries such as France, Germany, Spain, and Italy.
During the tour of various departments, Ms. Marolya Adnan Marqos stressed the importance of employee conduct and customer interaction, noting that professional behavior significantly affects customer satisfaction and purchasing decisions. She also explained the company’s accounting practices and financial management procedures.
The visit concluded with an interactive session during which students engaged in a lively question-and-answer session with company staff. They discussed business methodologies and received detailed responses to their inquiries.
