Department of Business Administration Students Visit Mashkhalymal Company

On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, the Department of Business Administration at Cihan University–Erbil organized an educational visit for students from different academic stages to Mashkhalymal Company, a company specializing in bringing foreign workers to the region. The educational visit was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Hevi Mohammed Qader.

Upon their arrival, the students were warmly received by Engineer Mashkhal Hassan, the company manager, who provided them with a general overview of the company’s activities and work procedures. At the beginning of the visit, Engineer Mashkhal explained the process of bringing workers from different countries, including Indonesia, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Nepal. These workers are mainly employed to provide household services, such as cleaning homes, caring for children, and looking after elderly people.

He then explained that the process of bringing foreign workers begins with obtaining the required approvals. First, the necessary approval is obtained from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, followed by obtaining a visa from the Ministry of Interior after the workers complete several health examinations, including pregnancy and HIV tests.

He also explained that, after an agreement is reached between the two parties—the company and the applicant the applicant must provide a power of attorney for the worker they are receiving.

He then highlighted the workers’ period of stay. The contract between the company and the applicant is signed for a period of two years; however, workers can stay in the Kurdistan Region for up to five years. During this five-year period, they are not permitted to leave the Kurdistan Region.

Finally, Engineer Mashkhal explained the cost of bringing the workers, which ranges from $2,500 to $9,000. Indonesian workers are the most expensive, while Ghanaian workers are the least expensive. Their monthly salaries also vary depending on their country of origin, ranging from $250 to $300. At the end of the visit, the supervising lecturer and the students expressed their thanks and appreciation to the company’s staff for providing them with this valuable learning opportunity.
