Department of General Education Students Present a Model Lesson at Daban Government Primary School
On February 9, 2026, two third-stage students from the General Education Department at Cihan University–Erbil visited Daban Government Primary School to conduct a field-based educational activity. The model lesson was organized under the academic supervision of Assistant Lecturer Deshne Abdulla Saeed as part of the department’s practical training and field experience requirements.
Upon arrival, the students, Zahra Ahmed and Elaf Kanaan, were warmly welcomed by the school principal, Ms. Nergis Amanj. She expressed her appreciation for the initiative and highlighted the importance of collaboration between universities and schools in enhancing the learning environment.
The lesson focused on the theme of “Motivating English Language Learning.” Zahra and Elaf applied modern pedagogical strategies that emphasized student engagement through interactive classroom activities, collaborative group work, and connections to students’ daily lives, making the language more accessible. This interactive approach generated high levels of participation and enthusiasm among the pupils, demonstrating the students’ academic preparedness and their ability to apply theoretical teaching methods in a real classroom setting.
The activity concluded with a constructive discussion and positive feedback from the school’s teaching staff. Educators at Daban Primary School praised Zahra and Elaf for their creative teaching styles and noted the visible impact on the pupils’ motivation. The session ended with the school administration reaffirming the value of such practical visits in preparing a new generation of competent teachers capable of contributing effectively to the development of education.
