Department of Informatics and Software Engineering Develops First-of-Its-Kind AI Robot

On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, a distinguished scientific seminar was held in the VIP Hall at Cihan University–Erbil, focusing on the design and development of a robot utilizing artificial intelligence technologies.

During the seminar, Assistant Lecturer Adil Hussein from the Department of Informatics and Software Engineering presented his innovative project — an intelligent robot capable of voice interaction and communication in three languages: Kurdish, Arabic, and English. This achievement represents a significant step toward integrating artificial intelligence into educational and service-oriented applications.

The presentation included a detailed explanation of the project’s technical and programming stages, along with the training process of the robot’s linguistic model to recognize voices, understand commands, and respond appropriately.

Assistant Lecturer Adil Hussein also highlighted the significance of this invention, emphasizing that it offers a practical and comprehensive solution to numerous challenges in applied fields.

This was followed by another seminar held on the same day by Nazho Nahro, a fourth-year student from the same department, titled “Cybersecurity and Modern Challenges in Protecting Digital Systems,” under the supervision of Assistant Professor Ghassan A. QasMarrogy.

The seminar addressed the importance of cybersecurity in the digital era, the most common types of cyberattacks, and the modern tools and technologies used to protect digital infrastructures.
