Department of Media Organized Students Discussion Seminar

On 21 September 2022 (Wednesday), the Media Department of Cihan University – Erbil organized a student discussion seminar at the Cihan Academy Hall entitled ‘Academic Study and Professional Media Work’.

The second-stage students, Muhammad Khaled Anwar and Zhikar Amir Namiq, participated in the discussion, where they reviewed at the beginning of their discussion about the concept of academic study at the university and its necessity including its scientific and academic requirements in order to obtain a university degree. Later, they touched on professional work for any scientific specialization and how to employ theoretical study in professional work not necessarily after graduation, but students can engage in professional work during their university studies.

During the seminar, the student Zhikar Amir Namek referred to his experience as he has been working in the media field for more than 5 years. He explained the necessity and importance of completing the academic study and its compatibility with the professional work of any specialization, especially in the field of media, noting that the media field is often motivated by desire and media talent, which must be refined and developed academically.

The Department of Media of Cihan University – Erbil owns a television and radio studio that allows students, since their admission to the university, to work in the media in any field that they desire.

With regard to the conclusion part of the seminar, many students participated in their interventions, especially those who have long experience in the media field, and now are students in the department and are striving to complete their media academic studies.
