Under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Media at Cihan University–Erbil, a specialized seminar on the experience of working in television presentation was held in the hall of the Cihan Academy for Training and Development on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
The seminar was supervised by Dr. Ammar Najmeddin. Trainees from all four stages of the Department of Media participated in the seminar, and the seminar content was presented by Ms Zhino Mohammed, a well-known presenter on the Kurdistan24 television channel.
At the beginning of the seminar, Ms Zhino Mohammed discussed her personal experience in the field of television presentation and clarified that entering this profession requires passion, perseverance, and continuous training. She also referred to the beginnings of her career and explained how she faced the challenges she encountered.
In the second part of the seminar, she discussed the challenges facing media professionals, noting that media workers encounter several obstacles, such as dealing with sudden events, facing social criticism, and achieving a balance between personal life and media work, as well as the importance of maintaining neutrality and professionalism in all circumstances. She also clarified that, despite these challenges, a presenter must always be prepared and able to perform professionally.
She later highlighted the importance of teamwork in television media, emphasizing that the success of any program depends on cooperation and coordination between the presenter and the production team, and that the presenter is only one part of a larger process. She stressed the need to respect everyone’s role and work efficiently together to enhance the quality of media production.
In the final part of the seminar, Ms Zhino Mohammed encouraged the trainees to develop their abilities academically and engage in professional work. She stated: “Academic education in the Department of Media provides an important foundation, but trainees must strive during their studies to gain real practical experience through training, working in the university’s internal channels, participating in media projects, and developing both their speaking and writing skills.
In conclusion, on behalf of the Head of the Department of Media, the supervising instructor thanked Ms. Zhino Mohammed for presenting the seminar and expressed hope that the activity would mark the beginning of an ongoing relationship to benefit the department’s trainees.
