Department of Medical Laboratory Analysis Organized a Scientific Visit to Nowruz Medical Center

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, fourth-year students from the Medical Laboratory Analysis Department at Cihan University – Erbil conducted an educational visit to Nowruz Medical Center under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Aram Mohammed Bara.

During the visit, the students were warmly received by Ms. Hawar Khurshid Hama-Amin, the center’s director, who provided a detailed explanation of the importance of vaccines in disease prevention and their crucial role in promoting public health.

The visit began with an introductory tour of the center, where students received comprehensive information about various types of vaccines used to protect against diseases such as influenza, hepatitis, and measles. They also learned about the methods of vaccine administration, including oral drops and injections. The discussion covered the recommended ages for vaccinations, starting from one week after birth, with doses determined based on the infant’s weight. The center’s staff emphasized the importance of proper vaccine transportation and storage to ensure effectiveness, safety, and quality.

Additionally, the discussion shifted to strategies for raising community awareness about the necessity of vaccinations, particularly in protecting children from serious illnesses. The students actively participated by asking questions, which the center’s specialists answered in detail.

At the end of the visit, Assistant Lecturer Aram Mohammed Bara expressed his gratitude to the Nowruz Medical Center staff for their time, efforts, and detailed explanations, which significantly enriched the students’ understanding of vaccines and their role in public health.
