Department of Nutrition and Dietetics Students Visit Bioguard Center for Nutritional Products

On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Mohammed M. Hussein, fourth-year students from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Cihan University-Erbil visited the Bioguard Center for Nutritional Products.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by Hawndag Ahmed, the center’s supervisor and a second-year student in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. The visit included a comprehensive tour of the center, where students explored various nutritional products, including dietary supplements, functional foods, and health-promoting products.

Hawndag Ahmed provided detailed explanations about vitamins, minerals, probiotic-enriched foods, and fiber-based products, emphasizing their role in maintaining health and preventing deficiencies. The students also engaged in discussions about the composition of these products, the sources of their active ingredients, and the scientific principles underlying their formulation.

This visit offered students valuable practical insights into the nutritional product industry, allowing them to observe the real-world application of scientific knowledge. It also provided an excellent opportunity to interact with professionals in the field and deepen their understanding of the role of dietary supplements and functional foods in promoting health.
