DESCRIPTION

The Department of Translation at Cihan University-Erbil as one of the scientific departments of the College of Arts and Letters was established in 2013-2014. The students are given different materials in Translation Studies, Language and Linguistics, and Literature. The graduates are trained as professional translators, English teachers, and employees wherever translation is needed.

VISION

The Department of Translation aims to establish a distinguished, qualified department with high international standards. It attempts vigorously to provide a suitable atmosphere of teaching and learning that motivates its students to achieve the department's objectives in serving society and being aware of the cultures of different parts of the globe.

MISSION

The department provides its students with modern issues in translation, English Literature, Linguistics, and other language skills. The department's curriculum is chosen according to scientific criteria, taking into consideration the development in the fields of language and translation. A particular attention is paid to the practical side of the study to train the students to be efficient translators.
