Departments of Accounting, Business Administration, and Public Administration Receive Delegation from the Accountants and Auditors Syndicate of Kurdistan
On Monday, June 8, 2026, the Departments of Accounting, Business Administration, and Public Administration at Cihan University–Erbil received a delegation from the Accountants and Auditors Syndicate of Kurdistan. The delegation included Mr. Salim Salim Husen, Director of the Syndicate, and Mr. Goran Farhad, Deputy Director of the Syndicate.
The guests were received by Lecturer Dashty Ismail, Head of the Department of Accounting, and Dr. Hawkar Perdawd, Head of the Departments of Business Administration and Public Administration. The visit focused on strengthening cooperation between academic institutions and professional organizations to better prepare accounting students for the labor market in the Kurdistan Region.
During the meeting, representatives of the Syndicate highlighted the increasing demand for qualified accountants and auditors and emphasized the importance of closer collaboration between universities and professional institutions. Discussions centered on supporting students’ professional development and enhancing the quality of accounting education.
Both sides also explored several future initiatives, including organizing scientific seminars and workshops on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Auditing Standards (IAS), as well as providing summer internship opportunities for students. They further stressed the importance of scientific research, academic cooperation, and continuous professional development in preparing graduates to meet future professional challenges.
At the end of the visit, the representatives of the Syndicate expressed their appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening future cooperation with Cihan University–Erbil through academic activities, professional training programs, and initiatives aimed at supporting student development and promoting professional excellence in the fields of accounting and auditing.
