
Dr. Amjad S. Al-Delawi: Cihan University has started an intensive program to electronize scientific and administrative affairs
For the purpose of introducing the details of the system of electronized exams and recording students’ grades based on the system of Bologna Process, a meeting was held on Saturday, January 9th, 2021, under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Amjad S. Al-Delawi, the president of Cihan University. The head of departments and the teaching staff attended the meeting and the future plans for electronizing administrative and scientific affairs were discussed.
In this regard, from the beginning of the meeting and after welcoming the audiences, Dr. Amjad S. Al-Delawi spoke about the vision and mission of the university to benefit from the new technology to improve the educational system and upgrade the administrative and scientific affairs. He stated that Cihan University is looking forward to a bright future and hoped to prepare an influential generation equipped with science and knowledge for the future of the educational community to remain as the best of all universities in Kurdistan and make every effort to be at the top among all universities.
Continuing his speech, the president of Cihan University focused on the importance of doing administrative affairs and declared that this new system is far from any routine and wasting of time, which is why the University has started intensive work to apply new technology to electronize administrative and scientific affairs. He stated that there would be no steps backward in this phase and the whole faculty should redouble their efforts to learn and do their work through the electronic system, especially for the Moodle, Hangout and recording the students’ grades based on this system.
At the end of his speech, Dr. Amjad S. Al-Delawi talked about the process of how to manage the exams of the first semester of the academic year 2020-2021 at the University, which is scheduled to start on Sunday, January 10th, 2021. He hoped that a suitable environment would be prepared for students to successfully complete the final exams.
In another part of the meeting, Mr. Karez, the IT support manager, explained the scoring system to the lecturers. He clarified the details of how to complete the system. He added that the system makes it easier for the lecturers to enter the grades and to save their time.
The meeting was ended with asking several questions which were answered by Mr. Karez about the features of the system and the probability of possible problems.
