English Department Students Explored the Roles of English in Media During a Visit to Rudaw Media Network

On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, students from the English Department at Cihan University-Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Rozhin Husseini, conducted a field visit to Rudaw Media Network to gain practical insights into the use of the English language in media.

The students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Sharazur Jaf, Head of the International and National Relations Office, who provided them with a comprehensive tour of the network. The visit included broadcast studios, the Translation Department, and the newsroom, where students observed firsthand how English is utilized in news production, media translation, and international communication. Mr. Sharazur also gave a detailed explanation of the importance of English in the daily operations of the network, emphasizing its roles in content creation and global audience engagement.

The visit concluded with a friendly discussion session, allowing the students to exchange ideas, ask questions, and enjoy the hospitality of Rudaw. This experience provided the students with a valuable educational opportunity, enhancing their practical understanding of English in media and contributing to the development of their linguistic and professional skills for the future.
