English Department Students Visited the University of Kurdistan

On Sunday, January 26, 2025, students from the Department of English at Cihan University-Erbil visited the University of Kurdistan to exchange cultural information and learn about the different ways of managing their library. The event aimed to highlight how the American Corner can improve students’ English language and cultural and civic learning. The visit was led by Assistant Lecturer Huda Shwan Omar and welcomed by Ms. Leslie, the American Corner Supervisor. The seminar began with an overview of the American Corner and its use in language education.

During the seminar, the students presented various ideas to improve their English skills. This activity provided an opportunity for participants to explore these tools and understand their practical benefits. It also allowed students to immerse themselves deeply in the content and learn creative ways to use libraries to learn languages.

At the end of the seminar, the students had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss many different aspects. They showed great interest in learning different styles of English language instruction, which marked a successful step toward integrating technology and education. The director of the library expressed his gratitude to the students and Cihan University-Erbil for their efforts.
