On Monday, October 12, 2026, third-stage students from the Department of English at Cihan University–Erbil conducted an educational seminar titled ‘Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into English Conversation Practice’ at Hawler Private School.

The seminar was held under the supervision of Lecturer Pola Tahseen Mohammad, Head of the Department of English. The students were warmly received by Mr. Amanj Farhad Aziz Abdullah, the principal of Hawler Private School.

During the seminar, Dlbren Lazgen Omer introduced ChatGPT, explaining how it can support English conversation practice, improve pronunciation, expand vocabulary, and develop speaking skills effectively.

Next, Mohammed Ahmed Qader presented Google Gemini, highlighting how it can help learners improve their vocabulary and fluency through regular conversation practice and encourage them to speak English more frequently.

Paband Fouad Abdullah then introduced ELSA Speak, an AI-powered language-learning tool, emphasizing its role in improving pronunciation, building speaking confidence, and supporting independent English language learning.
