Enhancing Student Employability, Cihan University-Erbil Signs Tripartite Agreement with Two International Institutions
In a strategic move to bolster student competencies and bridge the gap between academic curricula and labor market demands, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE-based Strategy Directives DMCC and the Edraak Foundation for Training and Social Development.
On Monday, February 9, 2026, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, accompanied by the university’s vice presidents and several heads of departments, received a high-level delegation including Mr. Khairi Nader Abuljebain, CEO of Strategy Directives, and Mr. David Lazaro, representing the Edraak Foundation.
The meeting commenced with an introductory overview by the University President regarding Cihan University-Erbil’s academic history and its local and international scientific milestones. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi emphasized the university’s unwavering commitment to high-quality education aligned with global standards, aimed at enhancing the professional proficiency of graduates to ensure a seamless transition into the workforce.
The representatives of the partnering institutions presented their organizational frameworks and the scope of the collaboration. According to the agreement, Cihan University-Erbil will implement the “Maharatkom” platform—an advanced assessment system that utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Analytics to evaluate students’ behavioral, managerial, and technical competencies.
Furthermore, Edraak will serve as the primary digital learning platform, providing specialized training courses designed to bridge the specific skill gaps identified by the AI system. This integration aims to empower students with essential 21st-century skills, including critical thinking, innovation, and effective communication.
The representatives from the UAE and Jordan expressed their enthusiasm for this partnership, describing it as a “golden opportunity” for students to prepare for the competitive economic landscape prior to graduation. The ceremony concluded with the official signing of the MoU by Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, Mr. Khairi Nader Abuljebain, and Mr. David Lazaro (on behalf of Mr. Bassem Saad, Chairman of Edraak). The parties committed to the project’s success and to launching awareness campaigns for students, positioning Cihan University-Erbil as a pioneer in utilizing modern technology for human capital development.
