This conference aims to facilitate and provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge and share views and experiences in the fields of biology and health care sciences between academicians, researchers, postgraduate students, industry experts and health care providers in a synergetic, interactive atmosphere through extensive discussion sessions, workshops and posters. The conference also provides a scientific platform for networking and career opportunities.

 

Further activties that will be run in parallel with the conference. Two interesting workshops which entitled (Psychology of University Students and Infection Control in Hospitals) that will be directed as round table sessions. The authers are advised to register for the workshops immediately with the paper submission because of limited seats availability.

Workshop: Psychology of University Students – Dr. Hasanen A. H. Al-Taiar – MBCHB, MRCPsych – Oxford University

Over the past decade, the demographics of the student population have undergone many changes that are of relevance to the provision of mental healthcare. The numbers of young people in higher education have expanded and they have become more socially and culturally diverse. There have been increasing numbers of students drawn from backgrounds with historically low rates of participation in higher education and growing numbers of international students. Social changes such as the withdrawal of financial support, family breakdown and, economic recession are all having an impact on the well-being of students and other young people.

There are novel challenges presented by the university and they need to adapt to the new environment, and lifestyle changes. In an environment all such issues and further interfering factors will be discussed in the workshop .

Workshop: Infection Control in Hospitals – Assistant Professor Dr. Samir M. O. Al-Najar – MBCHB, Community Medicine – Hawler Medical University

Cross infection is Transmission of infectious agents between patients and staff in the clinical sittings. Several factors are crucial in Transmission of infection from one person to another such as a source of infection (index case), mode or Vehicle of transmission such as blood, saliva droplets, instruments contaminated with blood, tissue debris as well as some animal and insect vectors that contribute directly or indirectly to infection transmission by contaminating unsaved medical equipment.

In this workshop most possible sources and modes of infection transmission as well as the recommended preventive measures to reduce the incidence of nosocomial infection according to international guidelines will be discussed in an open round table sessions. Health care providers, biomedical researchers, postgraduate students are welcomed to exchange their ideas with infection control experts.
