The delegation was accompanied by Ms. Daisy Ma, the tour guide, and Ms. Hayley Qiuling, a staff member of the international training program, who introduced the historical, cultural, and geological significance of the Stone Forest. The site is widely recognized for its extraordinary limestone formations, which have been shaped naturally over millions of years, creating a unique landscape that attracts visitors from around the world.
During the visit, the delegation was introduced to the history of the Stone Forest Park, which dates back to 1931, when former Yunnan Provincial Governor Long Yun recognized the exceptional beauty of the area, named it the “Stone Forest,” and established the first park management office. Since then, the site has become one of China’s most renowned tourist attractions and a symbol of the country’s rich natural heritage.
The visit highlighted China’s remarkable achievements in preserving its natural heritage, promoting sustainable tourism, and protecting unique geological landscapes while providing Dr. Omaer Zubir Zahir and Assistant Lecturer Hevi Mohammed Qader with a valuable cultural and academic experience as part of the international training program.
