Field Visits to Erbil Schools: Enhancing the Competence of Students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences

As part of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences’ practical training program at Cihan University–Erbil, a group of faculty members conducted field visits to several schools in Erbil on Sunday, November 2, 2025, to monitor the department’s students during their practical training sessions in physical education classes.

The visits focused on evaluating students’ field performance, assessing their practical teaching skills, organizing physical education lessons, and applying modern methods of physical training. Additionally, they provided academic guidance and supervision to ensure the department’s educational and pedagogical objectives were achieved.

During the visits, the faculty members observed the lessons delivered by the students and discussed with school administrators and supervisors ways to improve performance, enhance field leadership skills, and strengthen the management of physical activities.

The faculty members emphasized that these visits reflect the department’s commitment to preparing qualified teachers who possess both physical competence and modern educational knowledge. They noted that practical application is a fundamental step in developing the professional identity and teaching abilities of future physical education teachers.

Finally, the students expressed their gratitude to their supervisors for their continuous support and guidance, affirming that this field experience gave them the opportunity to transfer theoretical knowledge into practical application in real educational settings.
