First-Year Medical Microbiology Students Visit Noor Lab for Practical Insights

On Sunday, December 15, 2024, first-year students of the Department of Medical Microbiology at Cihan University-Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Zahra Khan Maraf Tahir, conducted an educational visit to Noor Lab in Erbil as part of their practical course in Analytical Chemistry. The visit aimed at familiarizing students with laboratory equipment and the procedures involved in conducting chemical tests.

The students were warmly received by Mr. Ismail Khalil Abdulaziz, the laboratory supervisor. Mr. Ismael provided an overview of the chemical tests routinely performed at the lab and detailed the step-by-step process, from a patient’s arrival to the delivery of test results. He also introduced the students to various laboratory instruments, explaining their functions and demonstrating their capabilities.

As part of the practical demonstration, Mr. Ismael conducted a blood sugar level test (HbA1c) for the students, explaining the procedure and interpreting the results to enhance their understanding of diagnostic processes.

At the conclusion of the visit, Assistant Lecturer Zahra Khan Maraf Tahir expressed her gratitude to Mr. Ismail Khalil Abdulaziz for offering the students this valuable opportunity to gain firsthand experience and a deeper understanding of laboratory work, which will benefit them in their future careers.
