For the second consecutive year, the exemplary projects of Cihan University-Erbil graduates were presented in an exhibition.
To recognize the abilities, expertise, and skills of Cihan University-Erbil graduates, and with the intention of fostering a culture of academic competition among the students. the exceptional projects of the Cihan University-Erbil graduates for the second consecutive year were showcased for the academic year 2022-2023.
On Sunday, May 21st, 2023, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, president of Cihan University-Erbil inaugurated the exhibition featuring the outstanding projects of the graduating students from various departments. During his visit, Prof. Dr. Amjad talked attentively with the students and their supervising lecturers and inquired about the project types, objectives, outcomes, and the details of each project.
In his speech, following his visit to the exceptional projects, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, president of Cihan University-Erbil, expressed his congratulations to the students, supervisors, lecturers, and heads of departments and acknowledged lecturers who have trained competent students for the society. he stated that the projects are really excellent Dr. Amjad highlighted that this is not end of the phase of their education but it is the beginning of another chapter in their academic journey. He said that the completion of these projects should not be the final step, but rather a stepping towards publication. He encouraged the students to strive for their work to be published, either in the scientific journals of Cihan University-Erbil or in reputable international journals with a high impact factor. He further emphasized the university’s successful track record in this regard, highlighting that Cihan university-Erbil students’ research has gained credibility and has been published in high-level journals. This is an important scientific achievement for Cihan university-Erbil in particular and the Kurdistan Region in general. He added that it is inconceivable for a university boasting proficient academic staff and over five thousand students to not produce high-level research. This is not just the responsibility of the learners alone. The collaboration between supervisors and departments is vital and they should work as a team with their students, as no esteemed university in the world solely relies on its faculty members.
In another part of his speech, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi addressed the role and responsibility of students upon completing their university studies. He stressed the importance of continuing their educational journey by pursuing higher education. He mentioned his attempts to facilitate opportunities for students to pursue further studies in Poland. He said he had discussed with three reputable universities; an agreement has been reached. He said: ‘in the forthcoming days, a group of our students with some lecturers will visit those universities in Poland. Meanwhile, a number of employees of the admission registry will go to the country to establish the office of the university in the Cihan university-Erbil and to get familiar on how to send our graduates to Polish universities for pursuing master’s and doctoral studies and all faculties and departments have the opportunity to go to Poland. The President of Cihan University-Erbil announced that to expand higher education opportunities for our graduates in alignment with the higher education initiatives, we offer scholarships to our graduates to continue their studies in public universities in the Kurdistan Region and then work as an academic staff of our university.
In his speech to the audience and guests, the President of Cihan University-Erbil directed his remarks towards the creators of the outstanding projects and stated “your projects should not be ended here, but you should seek employment opportunities where you can implement your projects.” The President of Cihan University-Erbil reassured them that the lecturers, supervisors, head of departments and Cihan University-Erbil will continue to provide support and guidance throughout their professional journeys, expressing everlasting pride in their accomplishments.
It is scheduled that on Monday, May 22nd, 2023, additional selections of remarkable graduation projects from different departments will be showcased.”
