GENERAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT CONDUCTED AN ACADEMIC ACTIVITY ON ENGLISH WRITING SKILLS USING BRAINSTORMING

On 13 October 2022 (Thursday), the Department of General Education organized a writing process activity for second-stage students under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Ms. Marwa Mahmood Ameen

Assistant Lecturer Ms. Marwa asked the students to work in groups to analyze and write down their writing process step-by-step. Each group was then given a specific topic and asked to adapt the given topic to the writing process. Students were instructed to complete a paragraph by following the first step of the process of writing which is a brainstorm, write the first draft of a paragraph, check grammar, share their work with other groups, and conduct a peer review evaluation on grammar, punctuation, and share ideas before proceeding to the second draft of the writing.

This activity aimed to provide students with hands-on activities based on the writing process to assess their writing skills. At the end of the activity, all groups delivered their oral presentations at Cihan University Park.
