General Education Department Students Share Their Field Experiences During School Practicum

The Department of General Education at Cihan University – Erbil organized a distinctive cultural activity on Monday, November 24, 2025, in the form of a scientific seminar presented by several fourth-year students to various academic levels. The event took place in the VIP Hall as part of the department’s efforts to enhance students’ skills and professionally prepare them before entering the educational field, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturers Dashnie Abdullah Saeed and Rozhan Ali Khdir.

During the seminar, the students shared their practical experiences in school teaching, highlighting the main challenges they faced, such as classroom management, lesson planning, addressing individual differences, and communication strategies with students. They also presented practical strategies they had adopted, which contributed to improving their performance and overcoming obstacles encountered during the practicum.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abd Aoun, Head of the Department, along with several faculty members, who praised the students’ efforts and emphasized the importance of cultural and scientific activities in strengthening their field experience.

According to Dr. Ahmed, the activity was conducted to raise awareness among students and prepare them for the upcoming school practicum by learning from their peers’ experiences and the lessons drawn from them, thereby enhancing their professional readiness and supporting the development of the educational process within the department.

The event received strong engagement from attendees, highlighting its role in knowledge exchange and in fostering a spirit of collaboration among the department’s students.
