General Education Students Deliver Life Skills Seminar at Bala’s Private School
On Thursday, February 12, 2026, fourth-stage students from the Department of General Education (ELT) at Cihan University–Erbil conducted an educational activity at Bala’s Private School. The seminar, prepared for ninth-grade students, took place during on the school campus. The activity was presented by students Noora Emad and Rayan Azad under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Rozhan Ali Khdir.
The visiting team was warmly received by the school principal, Ms. Sazan Abdul Kader Darwesh, who facilitated the session and introduced the presenters to the students. The seminar, titled “The Best Version of Yourself,” focused on empowering young learners with essential life skills. During the seminar, Noora and Rayan explained how to set clear goals and emphasized the importance of logical decision-making. They also presented time-management strategies, including organizing daily tasks and using a reward system to maintain productivity.
A significant portion of the seminar addressed physical and mental well-being. The presenters highlighted how balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and finding inner calm through proper sleep and deep breathing can improve academic focus and memory. In addition, they discussed social skills, emphasizing that empathy and respectful communication are essential for building strong community relationships.
The activity concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session in which students and guests explored practical strategies to overcome fear of failure and build self-confidence.
