In Germiyan: President of Cihan University-Erbil Joins Events for Anfal Victims’ Anniversary

On Sunday, April 13, 2025, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, participated in various activities held in Germiyan in memory of the victims of the Anfal campaign.

Professor Dr. Amjad, along with a team from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research led by Minister Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, took part in the opening of the first festival for Commemoration Week at the Polytechnic University of Germiyan. The From Institute to University festival, which took place in the Seminar Hall of Ismail at the Technical Campus in Kalar, also featured activities in memory of the Anfal victims.

During the event, Dr. Aram Mohammed gave a speech and said we came to Germiyan, a place deeply affected by the Anfal campaign and genocide to show our dedication to improving education and science in universities across the Kurdistan Region. From here, we reaffirm our collective dedication to serving every corner of our sacred Kurdistan and turning the Anfal commemoration into a meaningful occasion for our future generations — a reminder that we always see ourselves as their servants and supporters.

Professor Dr. Amjad, together with the delegation from the ministry, later participated in various festival programs and extended his appreciation to the organizers and scholars of the university. Eventually, Dr. Aram Mohammed, along with Professor Dr. Amjad and other public and private university presidents, laid a symbolic wreath on the memorial of the Anfal victims in Debanay-Kalar.
