In Poland; Cihan University-Erbil signs an agreement with Poznan University of Technology, Poland
In the continuation of the visit of the delegation of Cihan University-Erbil led by Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, and to expand the scope of scientific and academic relations of Cihan University-Erbil with Polish universities, the delegation visited Poznan University of Technology and signed an agreement.
On Friday, May 12th, 2023, a delegation from Cihan University-Erbil visited Poznan University of Technology, Poland, and was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Wojciech Sumelka, Vice-Rector for Research.
In the meeting, Professor Dr. Wojciech Sumelka welcomed the guest delegation and then spoke about the importance of strengthening relations between the university and Cihan University-Erbil. Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi also provide an explanation on Cihan University-Erbil and mentioned its progress quantitatively and qualitatively. He said: “Although our university is young, but we are happy to have a lot of experience and extensive academic achievements; the best proof is that our university is leading in most of the rankings for universities at the local and international levels. With Poznan University of Technology, we will build a strong relationship to serve our communities.” After the meeting, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi and Prof. Dr. Wojciech Sumelka signed a joint agreement at the Presidency of Poznan University of Technology.
The agreement includes several areas of cooperation between the two universities at the university level in general and colleges and departments in particular. According to the agreement, the two sides agreed to exchange lecturers and academic staff between their universities based on Erasmus Plus program and to hold several joint academic conferences in the near future in the fields of engineering sciences, computers and communications. Another point of the agreement was to provide opportunities for master’s and doctoral studies at the Poznan University of Technology.
The agreement also includes several other important points regarding awarding joint degrees and providing opportunities for students of both sides to participate in the training courses which are going to be held in the summer season. Consequently, the signing of the agreement became the first official step to implement joint initiatives.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Asst. Prof. Dr. Maysoon Al-Haydari, the Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Dr. Salih Mustafa Salih Zebari, Director of International Relations Office, of Cihan University-Erbil and Magdalena Zawirska-Wolniewicz, Head of International Relations Office of Poznan University of Technology, and Dr. Hasan Al-Rifai, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering of the University.
