In Warsaw: Cihan University-Erbil Students Participate in a Specialized Workshop on “Mental Resilience”
The Warsaw University of Technology (Politechnika Warszawska) in Poland hosted a specialized workshop dedicated to enhancing students’ mental well-being, with a particular emphasis on cognitive organization and stress management strategies.
On Thursday, November 20, 2025, students from Cihan University-Erbil actively participated in this academic event held in the Polish capital. The participants included Ibrahim Zaki Mohammed Salih, a second- stage student in the Physiotherapy Department; and Mohamed Ali Baktish, a third- stage student in the Medical Laboratory Analysis department
The workshop, titled “How to Improve Your Mental Resilience?”, was facilitated by psychologist Magdalena Paszkowska. The sessions addressed mechanisms for coping with stress and enhancing students’ adaptability to change. Ms. Paszkowska highlighted the critical role of “mental resilience” in both daily life and the academic journey, explaining how stress impacts thinking patterns and decision-making processes.
A significant portion of the workshop was dedicated to practical training and comparative analysis between “Cluttered Thinking” and “Organized Thinking.” Participants, including the Cihan University-Erbil students, were introduced to various techniques to distinguish between dwelling on the past, anxiety regarding the future, and living in the “present moment.”
Students engaged in exercises to document distressing thoughts, categorizing them into three distinct stages: issues solvable in the present, future-related concerns, and futile thoughts. These were subsequently translated into actionable steps. Furthermore, the workshop included practical exercises in Mindfulness, Meditation, and the prioritization of tasks.
The event concluded with a group discussion regarding daily habits that facilitate the development of a robust personality capable of withstanding challenges with resilience.
