Interior Design Engineering Students Conduct a Scientific Visit to Zebrano Furniture Company

On Thursday, October 16, 2025, a group of second-stage students from the Department of Interior Design Engineering at Cihan University-Erbil conducted a scientific field visit to Zebrano Furniture Company under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed.

The students were warmly received by Mr. Ahmad Mohad Aziz, a staff member at Zebrano specializing in furniture arrangement, material selection, and interior styling. He provided an in-depth explanation of the company’s design philosophy, production process, and furniture material selection, highlighting the balance between functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Mr. Ahmad discussed various furniture styles, including modern, contemporary, and classic designs, explaining how each style aligns with different interior concepts and user needs. He emphasized the importance of color coordination, texture combinations, and ergonomic proportions in achieving harmony and comfort in both residential and commercial spaces. Additionally, he elaborated on the selection of materials such as wood, metal, fabric, and glass, focusing on durability, sustainability, and visual impact.

During the visit, Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed guided the students in observing the spatial organization of the showroom, furniture display techniques, and customer experience strategies. She emphasized that understanding material properties and furniture arrangement principles is essential for interior designers to create functional and visually balanced spaces.

At the end of the visit, the students took notes and prepared sketches to reflect their understanding of furniture design, material selection, and stylistic applications, gaining valuable insight into the professional practice of interior design.
