Linguistic Errors in Shop Signs in Erbil City

In accordance with Cihan University  vision and mission that highlight academic research, Assistant Lecturer Huda Yassin ,the teaching staff member in the Department of English had participated in the  International Visible Conference on Educational Studies and Applied Linguistics (VESAL) held in April 24th,2016 and organized by Ishik University in collaboration with Salahaddin University.

The  participant presented her research entitled `Linguistic Errors in Shop Signs in Erbil City` which discussed three main types of facades namely ,speaking ,grammar and lexical choice.The research also referred to the reasons that lay behind these mistakes like the translator`s language competence,translator`s language carelessness and socio-cultural differences among Arabic,Kurdish and English.It is worth mentioning that the speaker was given Attendance Certificate for her distinctive participation in the conference.
