Media Department Student Introduces Artificial Intelligence Technology to MLA Fandi Primary School Students

On Sunday, February 1, 2026, Avin Bahjat, a fourth-stage student from the Media Department at Cihan University–Erbil, conducted a seminar on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology for students at MLA Fandi Primary School in Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Dlan Ismael Mawlood, as part of the department’s ongoing scientific activities.

Upon arrival, the student was received by Mr. Aram Sardar. The seminar focused on AI technology, its applications, as well as its benefits and potential risks.

In the first part of the seminar, the student explained the concept of AI, highlighting how this technology simulates human intelligence in performing tasks and analyzing data. She then discussed the use of AI tools in the educational process, demonstrating how students can benefit from them in information retrieval and time management through practical examples of applications used in daily life.

She further emphasized the benefits of this technology, including accelerating the learning process, accessing diverse scientific resources, and developing students’ creative skills, all of which serve as powerful drivers for advancing the scientific level of schools.

In conclusion, the student cautioned against the risks associated with the improper use of this technology, such as overreliance on AI and the weakening of independent thinking skills. She also stressed the importance of protecting privacy and personal data in the digital world.

The teachers and staff of Mla Fandi Primary School expressed their gratitude to Avin Bahjat and the Media Department for this initiative to raise students’ awareness of modern technology and voiced their hope for the continuation of such valuable efforts to cultivate a generation well-versed in contemporary technology.
