Media Department Students at Cihan University-Erbil Visited Akre Radio
As part of their scientific field trip to the Akre district, a group of fourth-year students from the Department of Media at Cihan University-Erbil conducted a field visit to Akre Radio on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Jamal Hamakarim.
The students and their supervising lecturer were warmly received by Mr. Kamal Ramadan, Director of Akre Radio, who expressed his gratitude to Cihan University–Erbil for organizing the visit and his pleasure in hosting the group at the station. In his address, the director highlighted the station’s history and emphasized its vital role in raising public awareness on various environmental, social, and health issues. He noted that Akre Radio has consistently served as the authentic voice of the people and as a key training ground for many journalists in the region.
Mr. Ramadan also discussed the significance of radio in preparing future journalists by providing them with practical field experience, stressing that such visits offer valuable opportunities for students to connect academic knowledge with professional media practice.
At the end of the visit, the supervising lecturer, on behalf of the Department of Media at Cihan University-Erbil, extended sincere appreciation to the Director of Akre Radio for his warm hospitality and affirmed the department’s commitment to continued collaboration in training competent and skilled journalists to serve Kurdish media.
