Media Department Students Introduce Artificial Intelligence Technology to High School Students

Under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Dlan Ismail Mawlood, students from the Media Department at Cihan University–Erbil organized a seminar on the goals and importance of learning Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for students of Aga Private High School in the Pirmam district on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

The seminar content was presented by fourth-stage Media Department students Ako Akram, Aras Nazim, and Tania Fattah. In the first part of the seminar, Aras Nazim provided a comprehensive introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. He explained that AI is not merely a simple tool, but a system capable of learning, analyzing, and making decisions in ways similar to the human brain. He also highlighted how this technology is currently integrated into many aspects of daily life—such as social media, search engines, and language translation—making it an inseparable part of humanity’s future.

Subsequently, Ako Akram discussed the objectives of learning to use AI tools. He emphasized that mastering these tools aims to accelerate workflow and reduce repetitive tasks. He explained that students can utilize AI as an “intelligent assistant” to better understand their lessons, access new scientific resources, and develop creative skills in writing and design, provided the tools are used in an ethical and responsible manner.

In the third and final part of the seminar, Tania Fattah highlighted the importance of consistent practice and allocating sufficient time to become familiar with AI tools. She stated that merely knowing the names of these tools is not sufficient; rather, students must dedicate regular time to learning and practicing with them. She advised students to continually seek out new innovations and to view AI as an opportunity for self-development rather than a means of laziness, noting that the future labor market will require individuals who are proficient in this technology.

At the end of the seminar, the administration of Aga Private High School expressed their gratitude to the students for conducting the seminar and for introducing their students to Artificial Intelligence technology.
