On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, the Department of Media at Cihan University-Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Omar Hassan Fahmi, organized a scientific and field visit to the HITEX 2026 International Technology Exhibition for its fourth-year students. It was held at the Erbil International Fairground.

It focused on providing students with direct insights into the latest innovations in digital technology, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, and advanced technical solutions, as well as the impact of these technologies on the contemporary media industry.

While visiting the exhibition pavilions and participating companies, the students explored cutting-edge digital services and products, particularly artificial intelligence applications and tools utilized in content creation, communication, digital production, and the management of modern media platforms. The visit also provided students with a valuable opportunity for direct dialogue with representatives and specialists from the participating companies and institutions to learn about the operational mechanisms of these systems and labour market demands in the modern media landscape.

In turn, the students demonstrated significant interest in topics related to artificial intelligence and digital transformation, actively engaging in discussions by asking questions and sharing their observations regarding how these technologies can be leveraged and their broader impact on the media sector.

At the end of the visit, the students highly valued the benefits of such visits in enriching their scientific and practical outlook to prepare them for the labour market. In this context, the supervisor emphasized the importance of continuously organizing such scientific activities to enhance the academic and professional standing of Media Department students.
