Media Department Students Visit Matin Magazine

Under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Jamal Hama Karim, a group of students from the Media Department at Cihan University-Erbil visited Matin magazine as part of their scientific visit to Duhok city on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

The supervising lecturer and students were warmly received by Mr. Shamal Akrayi, Editor-in-Chief of Matin magazine, who expressed his pleasure at the visit of the Media Department from Cihan University-Erbil. During the visit, Mr. Shamal spoke about the magazine’s publication history, noting that it is a general cultural monthly magazine currently available to readers in both print and digital formats. He also discussed the magazine’s influential role in the cultural sphere and highlighted its ongoing collaboration with writers, intellectuals, and contributors. Afterwards, several issues of the magazine were presented as gifts to the students.

Finally, on behalf of the Media Department administration, Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Jamal expressed his sincere appreciation to Mr. Shamal for offering this valuable opportunity, which enabled the students to gain an in-depth understanding of the professional processes of Matin magazine’s work.
