Media Department Students Visited Mukriyani Publishing House

On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, the Media Department conducted a scientific visit to Mukriyani Publishing House in Erbil, with the participation of students from all four academic levels, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Dlan Ismail Mawlood.

 The students were warmly received by Mr. Karwan Abdullah, Director of Mukriyani Publishing, who expressed his appreciation for the visit. During the tour, students closely observed the various stages of book and publication production, including design, text preparation, printing, and book registration, which are essential components of print media and the publishing industry.

In another part of the visit, the students toured the archive section of Mukriyani Publishing, which represents a vital aspect of media work. There, they became familiar with a wide range of sources, including old and new publications, historical documents, and the institution’s digital archive. This experience provided a valuable opportunity for students to understand the importance of preserving and documenting information and the fundamental role these practices play in journalistic research and investigation.

As a gesture of appreciation and encouragement to promote a culture of reading and lifelong learning, Mukriyani Publishing presented a collection of books in the fields of media, journalism, research, literature, and culture to all participating students.

At the end of the visit, the supervising lecturer, on behalf of the Head of the Media Department, expressed sincere thanks to the director and staff of Mukriyani Publishing for their cooperation and guidance during the scientific visit and expressed hope that the collaboration between the institution and the Media Department at Cihan University–Erbil will continue in support of student development.
