Medical Laboratory Analysis Department Lecturer Conducts Scientific Field Visit and Participates in Seminar at Chongqing Medical University Hospital in China

On Friday, August 7, 2026, Sali Khalil Baqir, Assistant Lecturer in the Medical Laboratory Analysis Department at Cihan University-Erbil, conducted a field visit to several clinical departments at the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University in the People’s Republic of China as part of the scientific activities of an international training course.

At the first stage of the visit, she and the other course participants were warmly received by the hospital staff, followed by an introductory tour of the health services, operational procedures, and patient monitoring methods practiced at the hospital. In this context, they first visited the nursing departments, chemotherapy units, and patient rooms, where participants were introduced to the work organization and the role of nursing staff in patient care during different stages of treatment.

Furthermore, the hospital staff highlighted the Hospital Information System used for documenting and managing medical information, which facilitates access to clinical data and supports coordination among various departments. Additionally, participants watched a video presentation on a specific medical procedure for removing a uterine tumor, illustrating the main stages of the procedure and its importance in treating certain gynecological conditions.

On the same day, Sali Khalil Baqir, Assistant Lecturer in the Medical Laboratory Analysis Department, participated in a specialized scientific seminar featuring a series of scientific lectures on the prevention and early diagnosis of cervical cancer in developing countries. The seminar discussed Chongqing’s experience in breast and cervical cancer screening programs and the results achieved through these programs. Methods for diagnosing cervical lesions were also discussed, including hysteroscopic cervical conization and its role in the precise evaluation of affected tissues, thereby supporting the selection of the most appropriate treatment method.

At the end of the visit, as a gesture of appreciation for the scientific coordination and hospitality, Sali Khalil Baqir, Assistant Lecturer in the Medical Laboratory Analysis Department, presented an honorary shield and the logo of Cihan University-Erbil to the staff of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University in recognition of their efforts to support the training program and provide opportunities for participants to exchange scientific knowledge and expertise.
