Medical Laboratory Analysis Department Lecturer Participates in a Scientific Activity in Shanghai, China

On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, Sally Khalil Baqer, an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Medical Laboratory Analysis at Cihan University–Erbil, participated in a specialized scientific activity held at the International Peace Maternity and Child Health Hospital (IPMCH) in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China.
The activity was held as part of an international training course on cervical cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment for developing countries. The participants were received by Dr. Wang Yudong, Director of the Hospital, who welcomed them and provided an overview of the hospital’s medical and scientific activities and specialized services in women’s health.
The program included a series of scientific lectures and sessions addressing recent developments in the diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer. The sessions focused on advances in screening and early detection, diagnostic methods for identifying cases and assessing pathological changes, and recent developments in treatment approaches.
The specialists emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and regular follow-up in improving treatment outcomes. They also discussed the role of diagnostic findings and clinical assessment in determining the nature of each case and selecting appropriate treatment interventions. In addition, the program highlighted medical experiences and practices adopted by Chinese healthcare institutions in the field of cervical cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
The activity also provided an opportunity for participants to learn about scientific and clinical experiences related to cervical cancer screening programs and to discuss approaches to improving diagnostic, follow-up, and treatment procedures. It further facilitated the exchange of scientific knowledge and expertise between the participants and specialists on modern approaches to prevention and early detection.
At the end of the activity, Sally Khalil Baqer, representing Cihan University–Erbil, presented an honorary plaque to Dr. Wang Yudong, Director of the Hospital, in appreciation of his scientific efforts and warm hospitality. The gesture also aimed to strengthen communication and promote the exchange of scientific expertise between the two institutions.
