Medical Laboratory Analysis Department Lecturer Participates in a Scientific Visit to the Clinical Skills Training Base in Shanghai
As part of the international training program on cervical cancer screening, early diagnosis, and treatment for developing countries, Sali Khalil Baqir, an Assistant Lecturer in the Medical Laboratory Analysis Department at Cihan University–Erbil, participated in a scientific visit to the Clinical Skills Training Base and Hospital History Museum at the International Peace Maternity and Child Health Hospital (IPMCH), Fengxian Campus, in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China. The participants were received by Zhu Wei from the hospital’s Clinical Training Center.
The visit included a tour of the Clinical Skills Training Base, where the participants learned about the educational and training environment designed to develop practical clinical skills. They were also introduced to various medical devices, models, and simulators used in clinical training, along with practical explanations of their applications and their role in strengthening clinical competencies.
The participants then visited several training facilities equipped to simulate clinical settings. They observed demonstrations of training devices and equipment and learned about the hospital’s methods for integrating theoretical knowledge with clinical practice.
The visit also included the Hospital History Museum, where the participants learned about the hospital’s development and its history of providing maternity and women’s health services. They also explored the development of its medical, educational, and training facilities and programs.
At the end of the visit, the participants exchanged views and experiences on the importance of clinical training and medical simulation in developing healthcare competencies. As a gesture of appreciation, Cihan University–Erbil presented a commemorative plaque to the hospital in recognition of its warm reception and scientific cooperation.
