Medical Microbiology Students Conduct Breast Cancer Awareness and Practical Training Session at Al-Nahrain High School for Girls
On Thursday, 16 October 2025, a group of fourth-stage students from the Medical Microbiology Department at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a scientific field visit to Al-Nahrain Girls’ High School in Erbil.
Mrs. Jozafen Mansoor, the principal of Al-Nahrain Girls’ High School, warmly welcomed the visiting students, commending their initiative and emphasizing the critical importance of the health education they provided. The session included interactive and constructive discussions, during which participants exchanged questions and ideas about women’s health and disease prevention.
During the visit, the students delivered a comprehensive educational lecture covering the causes, risk factors, and prevention methods of breast cancer, highlighting the paramount importance of early detection and regular self-examination. The presentation was followed by practical demonstrations illustrating basic techniques for identifying abnormal changes in the breast, enabling the high school students to understand early tumor detection methods effectively.
The activity concluded with a constructive exchange of views and ideas between the two academic institutions, reaffirming the strategic importance of ongoing collaboration between universities and schools in serving the community.
