Medical Microbiology Students Participate in Leadership Development Conference at the University of Kurdistan Hawler

On Thursday evening, 16 October 2025, a group of fourth-year students from the Department of Medical Microbiology at Cihan University–Erbil attended the American Corner Leadership Development Conference held at the University of Kurdistan Hawler under the supervision of Assistant Professor Khawaja Shakil.

The conference featured an engaging session led by Dr. Deidra, an American leadership expert known for her contributions to youth development and cross-cultural dialogue. During her talk, Dr. Deidra highlighted the importance of leadership in shaping personal and professional growth, emphasizing how young individuals can become positive agents of change in their communities.

Throughout the session, the students actively participated in discussions on leadership values such as teamwork, communication, responsibility, and integrity. They shared ideas on applying these principles in academic and community settings, particularly within the medical sciences. The interactive atmosphere encouraged critical thinking and collaboration among participants from various disciplines.

At the end of the session, the students expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to attend the conference and interact with an international speaker.
