Microbiology Department Students Visit the Animal House

A group of students from the Department of Medical Microbiology, the second stage, visited the animal house and took swabs from the animals.  The students planted the swabs on media for the purpose of teaching students how to obtain samples from animals.

 It is also important for the purpose of verifying the presence of bacteria on the animals’ body in order to teach students how to diagnose pathogens and how to prevent the spread of diseases among animals and to stop the transition of the pathogens to humans afterwards.

The Department of Medical Microbiology will train students in groups in order to increase their scientific skills, taking into account the prevention and safety measures.
