Ministry of Higher Education Delegation, Including the President of Cihan University-Erbil, Visits the University of Agriculture in Krakow

Continuing their official mission in Poland, a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Region visited the University of Agriculture in Krakow on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Headed by Dr. Amir Chali, Undersecretary of the Ministry, the delegation included Dr. Mohammed Kalari, Head of the Supervision and Quality Assurance Agency; Dr. Sabah Ibrahim Wais, Adviser to the Ministry; Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil; and the presidents of Salahaddin University-Erbil, Erbil Polytechnic University, and Tishk International University.

Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly received by the Rector of the University of Agriculture in Krakow, Dr. hab. inż. Sylwester Tabor, Prof. URK. A comprehensive meeting subsequently took place, attended by Prof. Dr. Marcin Rapacz, Vice-Rector for Science. The discussions focused on numerous areas of mutual interest between the University of Agriculture in Krakow and the universities of the Kurdistan Region.

During the meeting, both parties discussed strengthening academic relations through student and faculty exchange programs, the co-organization of conferences, the initiation of joint research projects, and reciprocal delegation visits between the Kurdistan Region and Poland. Furthermore, the University of Agriculture in Krakow pledged to support all forms of academic and cultural cooperation with the Kurdistan Region.

Finally, both sides emphasized the importance of establishing strong scientific ties and leveraging their shared expertise and experiences to advance the higher education sectors in both the Kurdistan Region and Poland.
