Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, the President of Cihan University-Erbil, has sent another group of students to Poland

Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University- Erbil, declared that another group of students to be sent to Poland as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance its global academic footprint.
On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Cihan University-Erbil held a special reception of students and their families as part of a meeting to celebrate an exciting new opportunity. The event was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, along with the Vice Presidents for Scientific Affairs, together with the Vice President for Student Affairs, and the heads of several academic departments.
In his welcoming speech, Prof. Dr. Al-Delawi expressed the university’s commitment to internationalization, stating, “Cihan University-Erbil aims to strengthen its global presence and promote international collaboration across all academic fields. This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to position the university as a leading institution on the international stage.”
The students, who are scheduled to leave for Poland in the coming days, will continue their studies as part of an academic exchange program. The event underscored the university’s dedication to providing students with valuable global experiences that will shape their academic and professional futures.
During the reception, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi also spotlighted Cihan University-Erbil’s significant contributions to the education sector, particularly through the implementation of the Bologna Process system. He proudly noted, “Cihan University-Erbil has led the way among Iraqi universities in adopting the Bologna Process, a globally recognized system aimed at standardizing higher education across Europe.”
He further emphasized that while some student groups have already completed their studies under the Bologna system, the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education has now officially launched the program with the cooperation of Cihan University. With over 100 partner universities across the globe, the university’s collaboration is helping to clarify the importance of this system, ensuring students can smoothly transfer and study at these institutions without facing issues.

Prof. Al-Delawi highlighted the success of many students who have already studied at Polish universities through this program, emphasising the seamless compatibility of the Bologna process with the education standards of the European Union. “This initiative not only demonstrates the global reach of Cihan University but also aligns our academic programs with those of European universities, offering students a world-class education,” he added.
In another part of his address, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi took a moment to thank the families of the students for their ongoing support. “We are deeply grateful for the trust and collaboration you’ve shown with Cihan University-Erbil,” he said. “Your dedication to your children’s education and future has been invaluable. By choosing our university, you are not only investing in their academic success but also in their potential to reach the highest levels of knowledge and achievement, on par with students from around the world.”
Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi shared insights into the rigorous selection process for the students who will be heading to Poland. “This group of nine students, representing various scientific departments of Cihan University-Erbil, underwent a highly competitive selection process to be chosen from over 6,000 applicants,” he explained. “The selection was based on a set of academic principles and criteria developed by our university in collaboration with the University of Lodz and Warsaw University of Life Sciences.”
Addressing the students directly, Prof. Al-Delawi continued, “As you embark on this journey to Poland, you are not just representing yourselves, you rather carry the pride of Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and Cihan University-Erbil. Your success reflects not only your own hard work but also the dedication of your families and the reputation of your university.”
He also stressed the importance of upholding moral, educational, and scientific standards. “You have been entrusted with a great responsibility. This is not an easy task, and you must ensure that you honor this trust,” he said. “This golden opportunity has come to you, and it is crucial that you dedicate yourselves fully to your studies and strive to elevate your academic level.”
He further highlighted the long-term benefits of this experience: “This opportunity will not only broaden your academic horizons but will also open doors for your future pursuit of higher education. Moreover, it will be invaluable in enhancing your skills in communication and public awareness, benefiting you greatly in both your professional and personal growth.”
At the conclusion of his speech, Prof. Al-Delawi offered a set of essential scientific instructions and personal recommendations to the students on how to adapt and behave while studying in Poland. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining strong communication, directing the heads of the scientific departments to stay in constant contact with the students. “We are here to support you throughout your stay. You should never hesitate to reach out for help with any academic or personal questions,” he assured.
The meeting concluded with heartfelt gratitude from the students’ families, who thanked Prof. Dr. Al-Delawi and the entire staff of Cihan University-Erbil for their continuous support.
