Professor Dr. Amjad S. Al-Delawi President of Cihan University-Erbil, Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Syrian Al-Andalus University
As part of its ongoing efforts to expand its international scientific and academic relations, Cihan University-Erbil has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al-Andalus University for Medical Sciences in the Syria Arab Republic.
On Sunday, July 27, 2025, Professor Dr. Amjad S. Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, welcomed Dr. Kanaan Al-Tamimi, Vice President of Al-Andalus University for Scientific Affairs and Scientific Research. The meeting, which was attended by the Vice President for Scientific Affairs of Cihan University-Erbil, began with a warm welcome to the guest delegation. The President of Cihan University-Erbil then presented a brief overview of the university, its scientific achievements, and its academic standing. In turn, the visiting delegation expressed their pleasure with the visit. Subsequently, both parties engaged in a discussion on several scientific matters of mutual interest.
Following the meeting, in a special ceremony, Professor Dr. Amjad S. Al-Delawi and Dr. Kanaan Al-Tamimi, Vice President of Al-Andalus University for Scientific Affairs and Scientific Research signed the Memorandum of Understanding, marking a significant step towards strengthening academic ties and scientific exchange between the two academic institutions.
As stipulated in the memorandum, its primary objective is to fortify academic and scientific collaboration between the two universities. It also aims to support graduates by providing a conducive environment for them to pursue postgraduate studies in academic institutions, with the goal of acquiring scientific knowledge and practical expertise that will benefit their respective communities.
The memorandum encompasses several key areas of cooperation, reflecting the commitment of both parties to building a strong scientific bridge. The most prominent areas of collaboration include:
- Joint Research: Promoting scientific research in fields of mutual interest to both universities.
- Academic Exchange: Welcoming students, researchers, and faculty members from both universities to conduct research and work, in accordance with the laws and regulations of each party.
